Welcome to the Pickens Sheriff’s Office Web site. We are excited to offer this service to our community and others who are interested in our office. We are a full service law enforcement agency that serves a community of approximately 30,000 full time residents. We operate through four main divisions – Uniform Patrol, Criminal Investigations, Detention, and Administrative Services.

It is an honor to serve as your sheriff, and I sincerely want to thank each of you for the trust and support you have given me. Your input and suggestions are important, and we will continue to be available to you, while working diligently to protect the lives and property in Pickens County.

I began my law enforcement career in January of 1992 with the Pickens County Sheriff’s Office. After being hired as a Detention Officer, I worked my way up through the ranks of the office until I was appointed Chief Deputy. As Chief Deputy, I was directly responsible for the daily operations of the Sheriff’s Office, developing and managing the budget and overall supervision of the office.

Following my service with the Sheriff’s Office, I moved into the business field in 2003 which would allow me to provide for my family while actively pursuing the office of Sheriff.

On November 4th 2008 I was elected as your sheriff. Now, I am able to combine my business and law enforcement experiences to bring a fresh, new approach to the Sheriff’s Office

I understand the unique issues facing Pickens County and we are working diligently to address them. I will serve this county as your Sheriff to the best of my ability and move forward with the many programs already in place, while bringing new ideas for the future.

As your sheriff, I am striving to provide the citizens of Pickens County with a safe place to live with professional, competent, and courteous law enforcement service. Our motto is to “Determined to make a Difference.” We are determined and with your support, together we can make a Difference in our community.

You have a wonderful group of men and women in the Sheriff’s Office who are dedicated to serving each of our citizens and visitors within Pickens County. The public trust in our office is greatly appreciated and serves as a constant reminder of the tremendous responsibilities of our office.
